Tandoori shrimp/Prawn is a super easy, most delicious recipe.
Tandoori shrimp are juicy, fresh, crispy outside and perfectly grilled.
We usually make shrimp curry, shrimp briyani frequently. One of my favorite seafood is shrimp so every weekend we make shrimp or some fish fry 🙂 😉
These tandoori shrimp skewers are absolutely delicious, with wonderful aromas and deep flavors of the Indian spices. Give a try and let me know 🙂
Shrimp – 1 lb, Use either fresh or frozen, this time I have used frozen shrimp.
Oil / Oil spray
Bamboo skewers as needed, soaked before using
Coriander leaves – for garnishing
Lime wedges – 1 – 2
Greek yogurt – 1/3 cup
Turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Chilli powder – 1/4 teaspoon or as per taste
Garam masala powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Ginger garlic paste – 1 teaspoon paste or finely chopped
salt – as needed
Lemon juice – 2 tsp or lesser
food color – optional
Red onion – Optional
Capsicum – optional
Prepare all your ingredients. This time I have used frozen shrimp so soaked it for few minutes then I peeled the tail because we don’t want to eat with tail. But make it with tail it will be easy to serve and eat. 🙂
Then take the shrimp in the bowl without any water. Add Greek yogurt and turmeric powder and mix well.
Then add chilli powder and garam masala mix everything well. If needed, add more masala powders.
Add ginger garlic paste or finely chopped, salt and lemon juice mix well.
If using onion and capsicum add at this time. Mix well and keep aside for few hours or overnight.
Adding coriander leaves to the marination is optional.
After marinating for 2 hrs or so. Thread the shrimp onto the bamboo skewers, set aside. Then line the aluminum foil in the baking sheet and spray oil.
Preheat the oven for 390º F and bake the shrimp for 15 minutes and broil it for 1 minute or until you see brown spots on shrimp.
squeeze the lime juice on shrimp and sprinkle coriander leaves and serve immediately.
