Detox Soup with mixed beans – Freezer friendly

This is the recent soup I made for myself. This is tasty as well as filling soup when you have this for dinner. Detox soup will be lite and tasty and filling after my kick boxing workout πŸ™‚

I saw this detox soup in google but want to alter this recipe for my Indian taste bud πŸ˜‰ So made some alteration by adding bay leaf, chilli powder and cumin seeds.

I’m sure that you will also love this soup πŸ™‚Β  And it is freezer friendly πŸ™‚

When you are not in a mood to eat anything or want to eat very lite dinnerΒ  then try this detox soup you will feel refresh πŸ™‚

This soup recipe is very simple because we can use whatever veggies we have in hand. And adding beans is optional. But I’m totally in love with mixed beans so I use to add into my soup recipes. You can completely avoid it πŸ™‚


Olive oil – 1 tbsp

Bay leaf – few or 2 leaf

cumin seeds – 1 tsp

Garlic – 2 -3 cloves finely chopped or crushed

Onion – finely chopped 1/2 cup or 1/4 as per your taste.

Carrot – 1 cup or 1/2 cup

Green beans – 1/2 cup chopped

cabbage – 1 cup chopped ( Not finely) Must veggie for the detox flavor

Broccoli – 1 cup

Celery – 1/2 cup chopped

Capsicum – 1/2 cup, Use variety of colored capsicum

Tomato – 1/2 cup chopped or use tomato puree 1/3 cup

Mixed cooked beans – Optional

Thyme – as per taste

Basil – as per taste

Salt and pepper

Water or vegetable broth/stock as needed

Other ingredients (If needed)

Vegetables : Cauliflower , Potato, Kale, Spinach

Chilli powder or paprika – as per taste

Method :

Prepare all your ingredients. Chop all the vegetables and cook the beans if using.

Heat oil in a pan, add bay leaf, garlic,cumin seeds and onion and saute for 1-2 minutes.

When the onion become translucent add the vegetables carrot, green beans and capsicum and mix well.

Then add the other vegetables celery, broccoli and cabbage and give a stir.


Time to add the spice powders add basil, thyme, salt and pepper.


I added 1 teaspoon of chilli powder for the spiciness. It is totally optional. Mix everything well for 2 minutes.


Add water or vegetable stock or chicken stock/broth as you needed.


Then add chopped tomato along with tomato puree. If you want use only chopped tomato or puree.


Mix everything well on high flame and let it start to boil. Then close with lid and in medium flame cook until the vegetables become soft (not mushy) for 30 minutes or lesser.


Tasty and heavenly detox soup is ready. Serve hot πŸ™‚


I added some cooked mixed beans and let it cook for 10 minutes.


Colorful super tasty and healthy soup is ready!
